DH291 Red Circles Platter

Handbuilt from slab, with a thrown foot. Fired to cone 12 in a gas reduction kiln.

This 18-19” diameter platter is strikingly beautiful and can be a statement  in your home, hanging either vertically on the wall (the foot is constructed in such a way that you can hang it on a small nail) or horizontally, placed on a table. While many display this platter on the wall, it is totally functional and can be used for any type of food presentation. This particular platter, in Dangerous Red against our Infinite Black glaze, has a design that, for me, refers to the concentric circles that are created when you toss a stone into a still pond, or raindrops falling on the surface of a reflecting pool, and the reverberation is infinite.
