DH027 8" Platter, Red with Chartreuse Spots

$110.00
A beautiful example of one of Daphne's 8" platters. Using a technique similar to batik, called wax-resist, Daphne hand paints hot molten wax on to the first layer of glaze with a brush in the desired design. Then the second layer of red glaze is applied over the black, which does not adhere on the areas to which wax has been applied. When fired, this allows for a blending of the black and red glazes to create a finish that is amazing in detail. All of the round platters are easily hung on the wall without need for a stand, hanger or device. Of course you can add one our plate stands for presentation on a shelf, hutch or sideboard. Platter makes a beautiful serving presentation piece for food.
