This cut-flower vase is the perfect compliment for a beautiful bouquet. There is a richness and variety as you turn the piece from one side to the other. Grooves incise the entire height of the vase, which catch the wood ash during the kiln firing. This vase is coated in a rich iron-saturate glaze, which reacts with the wood ash during the firing and creates a depth of rich color. The ash from the wood firing along with the glaze create a wide presentation of color, texture and depth. In some areas you can see crystals within the glaze, which at times happens due to the long firing and slow cooling of the kiln. Another one of those pieces I would be happy to retain in my collection.....can't keep them all though.
