In recent years I have been working with corresponding geometry in my thrown pieces. By corresponding geometry, I mean taking two curved or square geometric shapes and juxtaposing them against each other. In this beautiful bottle, I took a round form and shaped the top of the piece into a square. The lower half of the pot has been left unglazed, allowing the natural clay to show, enhanced with dots applied with a pigment-laden brush, and there is a copper red glaze applied over the top half. Very rich and wonderful little bottle. This is the same thing I do with my still life assemblies. Puzzle pots I call them.....
