A very fine example of my grooved surface treatment in a beautiful small bowl. This treatment causes an undulation of the glaze, and this bowl has variations of black, purple, gold, blue, and red glazes. Using glazes like ours, glazes are lighter where thin, and darker where thick. The ash from the wood kiln provides a subtle variation which I have tried to depict in the close-up shots. This bowl also has a large quantity of ash deposited on the rim and inside of the bowl making beautiful variations of black, gold, orange, and silver. This piece truly has something interesting happening in every area of the bowl. I have included eight photos to show the details in this exceptional piece.
