GH207 Covered Jar, Black, Red, and Gold
This is the first time I have listed one of these exceptional jars in our online gallery, this one came out of the wood kiln. Awhile back I got on a "cookie jar" making tear and saved several of them because they were so nice. Well, I can't keep everything so here is this one for your consideration.
This one is a black glaze with red trailing. The beautiful yellow/gold colors come from wood ash deposited on the surface during the wood firing. It also has what I call a double lip and a nice big knob making it easy to pick up and hold the lid.....which by the way is very solid.
Also, I have had many people coming to purchase funerary urns and these jars will work for that purpose as well. So cookies or ashes......
